The Council of Danube Cities and Regions (CoDCR)
The Council of Danube Cities and Regions (CoDCR) is a platform for municipalities and regional government and a network that communicates its members’ interest towards other political institutions. It serves also as a communication platform to exchange experiences and work together on solutions. In the interest of its members the CoDCR also develops projects often related to education, the environment, culture and tourism, economic development and civil society.
Launch of EuroAccess Danube Region
EuroAccess Danube Region is an online information and search tool on EU-funding available in the Danube Region, that can be used as support for the implementation of the Action Plan of the EU Strategy for the Danube Region (EUSDR) in the period 2014-2020. The Vienna-based Priority Area Coordinator of Priority Area 10 (PAC10) “To step up institutional capacity and cooperation” of the EUSDR has been entrusted by the European Commission to implement the project EuroAccess Danube Region, within the Danube Implementation Facility. The action contributes to action 7 of PA10 in the EUSDR Action Plan: “to review bottlenecks relating to the low absorption rate of EU funds and to ensure better coordination of funding”.
Danube Conferences on Culture
The Danube Conferences on Culture series is an intiative of the State of Baden-Württemberg related to the EU Strategy for the Danube Region. It started in Ulm (2013) and in the upcoming years it moved to Novi Sad (2014), Timişoara (2015) and Ruse (2016) – in successful cooperation with these municipalities. The main goal of the conferences is to exchange experiences involving cultural work in the Danube region, to introduce implemented and promising projects, to discuss questions of cultural policy and to vitalize the chances of our region of a wide cultural diversity by multinational cooperation.
EUROPEAN ECONMIC DANUBE FORUM
The aim of the EEDF – EUROPEAN ECONOMIC DANUBE FORUM is to bring new ideas and visions for the Danube Region into economic reality. This is achieved by linking economic enterprises with political, social and academic institutions and official bodies. The SENATE DER WIRTSCHAFT (Economic Senate) of Austria and SECI (Southeast European Cooperative Initiative) organises the annual EEDF event in Astria to provide a platform for SMEs as well as larger corporations and relevant decision makers of political and other respective bodies.
